Cave Landscapes
Caves
form best in the type of limestone scenery known as karst, named after the
Karst Plateau in Bosnia. Some of the most spectacular karst landscapes are
the pillars that make up the Guilin Hills in China, each riddled with
caves. Areas of flat limestone with deep grooves caused by water are
called limestone pavements.
