Inner Planets

The closest planet to the Sun is Mercury. This tiny rocky planet races around the Sun in just 88 days. You would not survive for long on Mercury, because you would not be able to breathe its very thin atmosphere. The part of its surface facing the Sun is intensely hot, while the other part is very cold. Scientists believe that when the Sun runs out of fuel, in about five billion years, it  will swell up and engulf Mercury.
