  Aloo Tikkis

Ingredients

  • 4 boiled potatoes, peeled

  • 1/2 cup boiled green peas

  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala

  • juice of 1/2 lemon

  • salt to taste

  • 2 tablespoons oil to fry the tikkis

Method

  1. Put the potatoes and peas in a mixing bowl and mash well till no lumps remain.

  2. Add the coriander leaves, chili powder, chaat masala, lemon juice and salt and mix well.

  3. Divide into 8 portions and roll into round patties. (Option: cut out into pretty shapes such as diamond or heart using a cookie cutter).

  4. Heat oil in a frying pan; shallow fry the tikkis on both sides till golden brown.

  5. Put in a serving plate and serve hot with ketchup or chutney.

Makes 8 tikkis
