  Daal Shorva (Lentil Soup)

Ingredients

Green Gram Split (moong Daal) (cooked) - 1/4  cup
Bengal Gram Split (chana Daal) (cooked) - 1/4  cup
Oil - 4  tbsp
Garlic (crushed) - 1  tsp
Salt - to taste
White Pepper Powder - 1/4  tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2  tsp
Lemon Juice - 2  tbsp
Curry Leaves - 10  nos.
Spring Onion With Leaves (chopped) - 2  nos.

Method

  1. Grind moong daal and chana daal with a little water to a coarse paste. Add a little water to the ground paste and stir gently.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add crushed garlic and sauté.
  3. Add the ground daals.
  4. Add salt and white pepper powder. Mix well.
  5. Add cumin powder, lemon juice and curry leaves. Mix well. Let it simmer for five minutes.
  6. Add spring onions along with the leaves.
  7. Serve hot.
